WHAT'S YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL?
POOL IMMERSIONS

WHAT IT IS
We're born knowing no boundaries. Then, gradually, we build them up: "I
can't do that." "That's too much for me."
Most of those lines were written long ago, from limited evidence, and never revisited. A Pool Immersion is designed to examine one of them, in a controlled environment, in a single session.
You learn mental and breathing tools drawn from freediving for managing stress, anxiety, and the urge to quit. Then you apply them right away in an immersed breath hold. Your body wants to breathe. Your mind wants to panic. You learn to stay present and watch it all from a distance.
It's one expression of The Rebel Path, our framework for human potential.
The water becomes a place to meet the edge of your Known Zone, your Ambition Zone, and your Potential Zone, and to get a real sense of where your limits actually are.
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS
HOW IT WORKS
01
FRAMING
We introduce the Comfort Zones and you write down the number you think you're capable of.
02
TOOLS
How the urge to breathe works, how to calm your nervous system, and how to treat physical sensation as data.
03
ROUNDS
Three to four rounds of immersed breath hold, in shallow water, always supervised.
04
PARTNERING
You work in pairs. One holds, the other is their safety partner and coach. Then you switch.
05
DEBRIEF
What you noticed, where you first wanted to stop, what helped, and the number you wrote versus reality.
WHAT WE LEARNED FROM PUTTING OVER 100 CEOs UNDERWATER
Leadership shows up when it’s hard to breathe.
By Jordi Mullor
There’s a moment right before someone goes underwater — a pause, a flicker of doubt in their eyes — you can’t miss it. They take one last deep breath, usually close their eyes, and slowly submerge their face into the water. The surface goes still, and everything else fades away. I’ve witnessed this dance hundreds of times.

BEYOND THE IMMERSION
"Your relationship to pressure. The signal that says breathe now isn't so different from the voice that shows up in a negotiation going badly, a project off the rails, or a conversation you've avoided for months. The sensation is real. The conclusion attached to it, I have to make this stop right now, is a story, and it usually arrives early.
In the pool, that gap between signal and story is unmistakable, which makes it easier to spot everywhere else."
Jordi Mullor, CEO of The Rebellion
Seattle Area CEO
"Still coming to deeper and deeper understanding of what actually happened for me through these incredible two days. Not only in myself but a profound acceptance, understanding and love of the people around me, my team and my family. I've never come close to discovering the edge of my envelope like I did in the container you provided. Funny because not once did I feel "challenged or pushed" (which I usually love) rather I felt an internal calling to discover the edge. I've never experienced anything like this before."
EO Member & CEO
"The Rebellion team made what was likely the most well-balanced leadership development retreat that I've been to. I was skeptical to see how they would incorporate the theme of pushing limits for people of varying backgrounds, demographics, and athletic abilities but they threaded the needle perfectly."
Austin Area Founder
"This was an amazing experience! Thank you to The Rebellion for making this possible. I leveled up on my ability to manage discomfort and excel in the face of extreme challenge. I look forward to working with them again in leadership development and training for my company. It's through experiences like this that we all find out what we're made of...and it's more that we think!!"

"POOL IMMERSIONS AREN'T ABOUT BECOMING A FREEDIVER. THEY'RE ABOUT PROVING THAT YOU CAN MANAGE YOURSELF IN MOMENTS THAT MATTER."
William has spent more than two decades exploring human performance and the connection between mind and body. He was the first person to dive to 100 meters on a single breath without fins, and he runs Vertical Blue at Dean's Blue Hole in the Bahamas.
What he learned along the way is simple: the limiting factor was never the lungs. It was the mind.
At The Rebellion, you're coached by some of the best freedivers in the world, using The Rebel Path methodology, so what you learn in the water carries into how you lead.
Pool Immersions are led by The Rebellion's facilitation and safety team, which also includes co-founder Siri Østvold and world-record freediver Walid Boudhiaf. Your event's team is confirmed in advance.
