Andrea Gonzalez
Rebel Ambassador
Andrea González’s journey in professional football began in Spain, where she pursued her studies in Sport Psychology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, developing an early connection with the mental side of performance in sport.
Her career has taken her across multiple high-performance environments, working with elite athletes from different sports around the world. With a strong focus on human potential, she integrates performance psychology with overall wellbeing, helping individuals operate at their highest level under pressure.
Her professional path within football has included roles with the Madrid Football Federation and the Technical Committee of Referees, providing her with a unique perspective on the game beyond the player’s role. She later continued her career in Mexico with Querétaro FC and Mazatlán FC, gaining experience in highly competitive professional settings.
These experiences eventually brought her to the United States, where she is currently the Director of Mental Performance at Orlando City SC, one of the top teams in MLS. There, she continues to expand her impact in elite sport while establishing herself as one of the few women to hold performance-focused leadership roles at the highest levels of professional football.
Andrea has also collaborated with The Rebellion as part of the TLAMATINI experience in Sayulita, Mexico, where she brings her performance psychology expertise into an immersive, real-world setting.
In this environment, she supports participants in exploring their edges through a combination of mental frameworks, reflection, and experiential challenges. Her approach helps individuals better understand how they respond under pressure, while creating space to expand their capacity in a grounded and intentional way.
Hosting this work in her home country adds another layer of depth, allowing her to connect the experience to the natural environment and cultural context of Mexico in a way that feels both authentic and impactful.
Drawing from her experience across different teams and environments, Andrea offers a practical and honest look at what it takes to support athletes behind the scenes, and how developing awareness, consistency, and mental strength can elevate both individual and team performance.
